WatchI love Viola Davis’ candor. In this Hollywood Reporter interview she tells us that Black women weren’t feeling her character in “Doubt”. And while we’ve certainly made some strides there are a lot of starts and stops. Also love her comment that we are often “overly” everything on screen. Check it out.

What can I say about Viola Davis, she is definitely having a moment. This is different than her stealing the show in “Doubt”, when she stole the show with a few emotional scenes, this time she carrying a movie and is using this time in the spotlight to make sure that folks know that we can play more roles than maids if given the chance.
